The last few weeks have been very busy for most of our junior & senior paddlers as they have not only been competing in the National Championships for the Marathon, but were competing for World Marathon selection too.
The National Marathon Championship took place over the August bank holiday weekend & was organised by Worcester Canoe Club, who although had some minor problems with race results, managed to organise the sunshine & great catering. Saturday was K1’s racing in age category, our youngest member Erica was the 1st off in her U12 race, followed by the juniors & seniors later in the day.

Sunday followed the same race fomat but K2 racing was the discipline. Some very choppy water was created off the start of some of the larger attended races, so well done to those that managed to keep going.

Congratulations to all our paddlers that raced & especially to our National Champions, Elise, Kayne & Stefano. This was the final Assessment race for selection for the World Marathon Championship taking place in Oklahoma, 3 of our paddlers have been selected as part of the GB team, we wish them all the best in their international race.
