On the 18th May Harry Archer travelled to the Gent regatta in Belgium to compete as part of the BCU development  team, of 45 paddlers, representing and paddling in their own club colours.
This competition was open to all Girls/Boys A and B paddlers and, apart from a nominal contribution made by the paddler, was fully funded by the BCU.
Harry made 7th in the final of the Junior mens K1 1000m having won his heat and coming 2nd in the semi final. He also competed in the K2 at 1000m and 200m with Nick Romain of Richmond canoe club.
This regatta gives paddlers a good first international experience and a great weekend was had by all. 45 paddlers attended this event from all over the UK.
This weekend Rebi and Marton Simon, Katherine Trotter and Amy Ward have all been selected, from Elmbridge canoe club, to compete as part of the British team in Piestany. Good luck to them.
